Double camp for +50 Women

The FIMBA GB +50 Women decided to organise 2 training weekends in January to ensure that the new year got off to a flying start.

With the final two places yet to be decided for the FIMBA GB +60’s women’s team, a group consisting of players who had expressed an interest for selection and players already selected met for a training weekend in Leicester on the weekend of 25th & 26th January.

The FIMBA GB +50M basketball team recently held an intensive training session in Oxford and were hosted, once again, by the Abingdon Eagles Basketball Club.

After one of the most difficult selection processes due to the sheer number of talented players committing to FIMBA GB, the coaches have managed to whittle their 33 strong squad down to the final team for the World Championships in Switzerland this summer.

The +55 Women had their penultimate pre-selection training weekend on 9/10th November, kindly hosted by RAF Cranwell.

The first training weekend of the new campaign which took place in Leicester was designed with an emphasis on running through our offensive plays. This session acted as an introduction to our strategies for new players as well as a refresher for our returning players.

Following on from our own superhero story, Pete Radford, we support the below statement from Super League Basketball’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Amir Pakravan.

The second of two trials weekends this time taking place at The Forest School Sports Hall, Wokingham, brought together existing players from last season plus 6 new players new to the FIMBA GB +50 Women set up.

The FIMBA GB +55 Women met for their two day October training camp firstly at Northgate Sports Hall in Sleaford.

Following the recent partnership with KitKing, the first FIMBA GB Nike kits have come off the production run.
