The +55 Women had their penultimate pre-selection training weekend on 9/10th November, kindly hosted by RAF Cranwell.
The players repeated their physical benchmarking that was first done in September, with some notable improvements in physical conditioning, demonstrating full commitment to being in top physical shape by June 2025 at the World Chsmpionships.
As it was Remembrance weekend, the players and coaches were keen to commemorate appropriately with 2 minutes silence at 11am. The rest of the sessions went well with 3 hours on Saturday and again on Sunday, focussing on defence and transition play.
With only 1 weekend before selection takes place, competition is clearly hotting up across all positions, albeit we are still looking for depth in the guard positions, particularly point guard. If there is anyone that would like to join us to try out for the squad, you are not too late! Training is at RAF Cranwell again Saturday 7th December at 14:00-17:00 and Sunday 8th December 10:00-13:00. Contact the coach at stuart@coffey.org.uk if you are interested or complete the online registration form.
Let’s go FIMBA GB!
