The FIMBA GB +50 Men’s squad joined up again as guests of the Abingdon Eagles at the weekend for another group session in preparation for the coming World Cup in April and World Championships in June.

Following final selections in January, the FIMBA GB +40 Women had their first team camp at the weekend as well as taking on a mix players from the various Loughborough BUCS teams.

The FIMBA GB +50 Women decided to organise 2 training weekends in January to ensure that the new year got off to a flying start.

With the final two places yet to be decided for the FIMBA GB +60’s women’s team, a group consisting of players who had expressed an interest for selection and players already selected met for a training weekend in Leicester on the weekend of 25th & 26th January.

After a less-than-stellar showing at the European Championships, Coach Williams decided it was time for a major shakeup.

The seasoned and depleted +50M faced off against a youthful Manchester Grizzlies in what has become a thrilling annual showdown. Despite the +50’s missing some key players, both teams were evenly matched in terms of size, experience, and depth.

The FIMBA GB +50M basketball team recently held an intensive training session in Oxford and were hosted, once again, by the Abingdon Eagles Basketball Club.

Snow did not deter the +60M and +65M players turning up for the first training session of the year.

The FIMBA GB +40 Women dusted off the festive cobwebs with a weekend camp in Leicester as the final team selections for the Masters World Cup and FIMBA World Championships were made.

The FIMBA GB +60 and +65 Men’s squads returned to their training base of Sheffield for the final sessions of 2024, this time at a new venue of Firth Park Academy.
