North East players unite for Italy

The Vertu Motors Arena – home of the BBL’s Newcastle Eagles – was the venue for a very special FIMBA GB Family moment, as players from various age groups gathered for a photoshoot before heading to the 2024 European Championships.

The players, all based in the North East, all represent the Bald Eagles Basketball Club and come from a cross-section of FIMBA GB teams; +35 Men; +50 Men; +55 Men and Women; +60 Men and Women; +65 Men and includes two of the team captain in Paul Hoborough (+50 Men) and Pam Donnelly (+55 Women).

Having recently received their new Nike uniforms courtesy of partners KitKing, the players wanted to show off at the home of the most successful franchise in BBL history before jetting off to Pesaro, Italy next week for the XII FIMBA European Championships, hoping to add to the 6 European medals won in Malaga 2022.

Here at the Bald Eagles Basketball Club, we are very proud of our members who have gone the extra mile to push themselves and become FIMBA GB players. Since the club formed in 2019, we now have 9 players competing internationally across various age groups.
