FIMBA GB is the United Kingdom ‘arm’ of FIMBA – The Federation of Masters Basketball Association (http://www.fimba.net/en/). FIMBA GB has been authorised by FIMBA World to regulate and control players and teams from the United Kingdom representing Great Britain at FIMBA events worldwide. We have been endorsed and recognised as leading the way for masters basketball in Great Britain by both FIMBA and GB Basketball.

Steering the organisation are Nicky Shaw (nicky@fimba-gb.com) and Maria Endacott-Heser (maria@fimba-gb.com), together with an elected committee of players, coaches and team managers – click here to meet the committee.

We are proud to be able to keep players in the game as well as opening up new tournaments for them.

We add life to your age, not age to your life
THE GAME NEVER STOPS

Continue to be recognised as the leading Masters Basketball organisation in Great Britain,
competing to win medals on the international stage

To grow the masters basketball movement by facilitating committed players from age 35 to 70+
to a high-level pathway and continue playing the game at an international level

  • To attract the best British talent available
  • To provide an opportunity to continue playing at international level at all age groups from 35 to 70+
  • To win medals at European and World Championships
  • To create the best on-court and off-court experience
  • To create a close community across the age groups
  • To provide a platform for people to keep playing and helping those not selected to find local opportunities
  • To keep players playing, supporting mental, physical and social wellbeing

In 2022 FIMBA GB facilitated the participation of 16 male and female basketball squads in the FIMBA European Championships which were held in Malaga, Spain. The FIMBA GB teams had a very successful competition and brought home 5 medals; their inaugural performances certainly made their mark on the world stage – click here for the full report.
