FIMBA GB are excited to announce that Wanatok will partner the o55 Women’s team for the upcoming European Championships in Malaga 2022.
Wanatok is a new app, the Uber for finding people to ‘tok’ to in person, in your current location, in your community, work place or university. Not on social media, but face to face over a coffee or tea, the sole purpose is to connect people in person, in the real world to ‘tok’.
As a supporter of FIMBA GB Women’s o55 team, we want to help people meet other people in person. Preventing or reversing loneliness and social isolation has never been more important, so please download the app, sign up and share with your communities. Wanatok, who doesn’t?

The number of over 50’s experiencing loneliness is set to reach two million by 2025/6. This compares to around 1.4 million in 2016/17 – a 49% increase in 10 years. Half a million older people go at least five or six days a week without seeing or speaking to anyone at all. Two fifths of all older people (about 3.9 million) say the television is their main company. In total, 45% of adults feel occasionally, sometimes or often lonely in the UK, this equates to 25 million people.
Social isolation has become a real problem in older adults post lockdown and this app will help support those in need. We would love our squad and wider basketball friends to download the wanatok app and set up ‘toks’ at the forthcoming tournament. Meet other people in person through Wanatok, who wouldn’t?
