In a new segment from FIMBA GB, we will be introducing key members of the team, starting with Coach Mal Gander.
Mal has been coaching Women’s basketball for 15 years in the Middlesex and Surrey local leagues, taking pride in developing players from a grass roots level. He has won the League Cup twice with London Acers and made many more finals appearances.
More recently Mal has been involved with the Surrey girls Under 15 and 17 campaigns with great success and been part of the South East regional development setup, winning the bronze medal on that occasion.
In 2021, Mal joined FIMBA GB, leading the +50 Women’s team to a 6th place finish at the 2022 European Championships in Malaga.
This is an amazing group of people and I look forward to continuing their development towards greater success in the coming campaigns.
