Marcus Knight joins o40 GB Wolfpack

Coach Mac is delighted to confirm the addition of ex-BBL guard, Marcus Knight, to the FIMBA GB o40 Men’s team.

6’2 Guard, Marcus, is a product of the famous Brixton Topcats programme, playing alongside NBA All-Star Luol Deng on their junior team. Marcus went on to play for German club EnBW Ludwigsburg in the Bundesliga as well various BBL clubs including MK Lions, London United and Leicester Riders where he was the BBL Trophy runner up in 2005. Either side of his BBL career, Marcus enjoyed success in England Basketball Division 1, winning the Division 1 Playoffs in 2004 with Teesside Mohawks and the National Cup in 2011 with Brixton Topcats.

A strong athlete with a dangerous mid-range game, Marcus is also a very capable and physical defender with a real eye for the game and passing lanes. Averaging 18.6ppg and 2.1spg during his time in the BBL with London Capitals, he was a constant threat to the opposition. Marcus joined the o40s team for their most recent training in Northampton and fitted in with the team immediately, on and off the court, having played alongside or against many of them over the years.

Coach Mac commented, “I’m really pleased to have a talent like Marcus join the team. I tried to sign him years ago when I was at Worthing. He is a scorer but his off the ball work is impressive. He has a high basketball IQ and will form a great 1-2 punch with Steve Gayle, another exceptional talent we are lucky to have. They will take some stopping in Malaga”
