GB Masters Basketball is delighted to announce the appointment of our first female Head Coach, marking an important moment in the continued development of our international programme.
With an outstanding playing and coaching career spanning Sweden, England and international Masters basketball, she brings a wealth of experience at every level of the women’s game.
A former Swedish international, she played for two of Sweden’s leading clubs, Solna and Alvik, before moving to England as an overseas player with Crystal Palace. Her playing career in the UK also included Avon Northampton, where she competed domestically and in European competition, as well as spells with Kingston and Leicester.
Her experience extends well beyond her playing career. She has worked as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach and mentor within the highest level of the women’s game, giving her a broad understanding of what it takes to develop players, build teams and create a positive team environment.
She has also been an important part of the FIMBA basketball pathway, both as a player and coach, representing at World and European Championships and gaining valuable experience of international Masters basketball.
Now, she takes on a new challenge with GB Masters.
Her appointment as our first female Head Coach is not simply a milestone in its own right. It reflects the growing strength and ambition of the women’s programme and the experience that exists within Masters basketball.
At GB Masters, we believe that age should never put a limit on opportunity, and that experience should be valued. Our players bring years of basketball knowledge to the court, and our coaching staff should reflect that same depth of experience.
As she takes the reins, she will bring international playing experience, high-level coaching knowledge and a genuine understanding of the women’s game to the role.
This is another important step forward for GB Masters Basketball — and one that demonstrates that the game really does never stop.

Head Coach Sussi : “I am really pleased and proud to be taking on the role of Head Coach of the GB Masters Women’s programme.
Having played basketball at international level for Sweden and throughout my career in both Sweden and the UK, basketball has given me so much. From playing for Solna and Alvik, to Crystal Palace, Avon Northampton, Kingston and Leicester, and later moving into coaching, mentoring and international Masters basketball, the game has continued to be a huge part of my life.
To now become the first female Head Coach within GB Masters is a special milestone and working with the +65s Women is an honour. But for me, it is much more than a title. It is about creating an environment where experienced players can continue to develop, compete, challenge themselves and, most importantly, enjoy playing the game we all love.
I have been fortunate to experience the FIMBA World and European Championships both as a player and assistant coach, and I know just how much international Masters basketball can offer.
I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to GB Masters, working with the players and coaching team, and helping to build something we can all be proud of”.
