Northampton was the venue for the FIMBA GB +40 Men and their first camp since securing the European Silver Medal.
Following a well deserved rest after the European Championships in Malaga, the GB Wolfpack wasted no time in getting back down to business under the continuing watchful eye of Coach Mac. Supported by currently injured players – Steven Gayle and Ryan Peters – and bolstered by a number of new faces, the squad worked hard on lessons learnt from Malaga and the structure needed for the 2023 International Tournaments.
Following confirmation of their entrance to the Masters World Cup in Croatia, Coach Mac has 5 months to get any new hopefuls up to speed and, more importantly aligned with the Wolfpack mentality on and off the court that has been so key to the team’s success.
With a few key players nursing niggles expected to return for December’s camp, Coach Mac is excited to be back with his team and is looking forward to seeing the players competing for their spots.
It’s been quite a break but it was great to be back on court with the Wolfpack and to welcome 9 new players. We certainly have competition for places! Very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the guys. We are starting a new journey with new goals to be a better basketball team. We had 6 guys out hurt so when we get everyone fit our sessions will be fearsome. Looking forward to it.
