Following the recent partnership with KitKing, the first FIMBA GB Nike kits have come off the production run.
The new, lightweight kits are Nike Dry fabric with Dri-FIT technology, with a clean finish neckline for increased comfort and performance mesh panels for breathability to help keep the FIMBA GB players dry and comfortable in the Adriatic heat. The women’s kits are designed around the female bodyshape to ensure they are not taking to the court in baggy men’s kits as is so often the case and includes a Hijab for our Muslim female players.
The home kit has been designed in the usual dark blue, but with the women’s teams being supported by KitQueen and their Mission, “to champion inclusivity, diversity and body confidence in her team sports,” the decision was made to move away from the historical white away kit and to go with red. The decision follows numerous high profile international women’s sports teams moving away from white shorts amid concerns over “Period Anxiety.”
The overall look, consistent across the whole on and off court tournament package, links the “Masters” element by taking inspiration from bygone Great Britain sports kits with the horizontal red, white and blue stripes, instantly recognisable as a Great Britain kit. The design also highlights our recently updated brand image, with the popular #thegameneverstops tagline across the shorts and support staff polos, linking everything back to the fun aspect of being part of FIMBA GB.
Having the Nike Swoosh across the entire kit package really elevates the style of FIMBA GB and will help our players be more comfortable on and off court as they proudly represent Great Britain.
