The inaugural FIMBA GB award winners have been announced, following our most succesful season yet.
The FIMBA GB Committee had the unenviable task of voting for each award, based on the nominations received from players, team managers, family, friends and followers. Congratulations to all winners and nominees
Team of the Year – +70 Men

a team full of passion and determination who pushed hard to win silver at the World Cup. They are in inspiration to young women like me
Nomination – +40 Women
brought a lot of smiles to a lot of face in Italy and are such a close knit group
Nomination – +45 Men
Player of the Year – Tom Campbell, +70 Men

a constant scoring threat, despite playing through injury
Nomination – Vilma Jurgaityte, +40 Women
Coach of the Year – Callum Jones, +70 Men

never met anyone as dedicated and passionate about his team as coach B. Didn’t give up after his injury and instead shared his experiences helping other injured players and fans navigate their injuries as well as genuinely caring about his players

supporting FIMBA GB from the start in a positive way
Nomination – Adrian Moult, +60 Women
Teammate of the Year – Wendy Murray, +60 Women

always pumping up the team with music and jokes on camps, at the hotel or on the bus journeys. Incredibly humble and grateful
Nomination – Aneta Dodson, +40 Women
always positive and supportive. He trained and worked hard on court giving everything. He never complained about any decision or situation
Nomination – Bobby Morton, +70 Men
a great captain and friend on and off the court. Doing so much for the team behind the scenes to support us
Nomination – Charlie Lauder, +40 Women
supportive and dependent for years
Nomination – Jeff Spaeth, +60 Men
Moment of the Year – +70 Men winning gold

Nomination – +40 Women, when they were told they’d made the World Cup Final
Nomination – Keith White (+60 Men), hitting a 3 to force OT in Italy in a game they would go on to win

Special Mentions
Although no specific award, the committee would also like to raise a special mention to Colette Anderson, Jim Dury, Bob O’hanlon and Flynn Reid for their quick thinking, support and reactions to save Peter Radford’s life, when he had a cardiac arrest on court at the European Championships.
