The FIMBA GB +50 Women were back on court in Chertsey at the weekend as Coach Gander closes in on his final squad for 2023.
After a 6th place finish in the European Championships in Malaga earlier this year, Coach Gander is looking to build on this solid foundation in 2023. The weekend saw the team training hard on Saturday with new strategies for transition offence and defence, whilst keeping a very high standard in all the basics.
On Sunday, the strategies were put into good practice in a friendly match against one of the top local league teams in the area, Aztec Storm. Our friends from Crowthorne won the match but the +50 Women’s team demonstrated strong resilience and character, playing them to a standstill in the 2nd half.
The competitive squad for 2023 will be announced following the next open training session on 26th & 27th November in Sheffield.
