GB Wolfpack Strengthened in Northampton

The FIMBA GB o40 Men’s Wolfpack were back in action at the weekend, visiting Northampton for the first time and welcoming new signing Marcus Knight.

Marcus joins having had a stellar career as a product of the Brixton Topcats programme and played at the top level in the UK and Germany.

Being the first training back since the Christmas break, the first 40 minutes were spent on conditioning drills to blow out the cobwebs and set the intensity level for the weekend.

That high intensity continued as the players worked on attacking the rim, and defending those attacks, before continuing to progress their transition offence.

Sunday saw a few light niggles that Physio Amanda got to work on, leaving the players to work on situational shooting drills and their aggressive defence.

Coach Mac was pleased with the progress, “Great session this weekend with 12 players all raring to go. I feel our transition game is where we need it to be and with a little work on half court offense and defence we will be ready to compete. I have players with great experience and high basketball IQ so I feel happier that we are getting to where we need to be. Great to have our new signing Marcus Knight on board as well, he showed what he will add to the team and what a great player he is. We’re really only missing a couple of huge centres to complete this talented group!”
