Sheffield was the venue for the final training session of 2022 for the FIMBA GB +50 Women as Coach Gander prepares to name his team for next year’s World Cup.
The three hour session on Saturday was focused on all aspects from team strategies to player progression. Head Coach Mal will be announcing the competitive squad for 2023 in the coming days and the players showed him how much being part of the team means to them, with excellent displays of passion, determination and comradeship.
Unfortunately Sunday’s friendly game was cancelled due to an outbreak of flu in the opposing team, but Coach Gander instead ran a session to remind the squad of all the skills and techniques looked at so far and, as always, they had a great deal of fun.
The FIMBA GB +50 Women’s team are entering the Masters World Cup in Croatia and the European Championships in Portugal next year and everyone is excited about the challenges to come.
