The FIMBA GB +55 Women latest camp was at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire on the weekend of 24/25th February.
The focus for the weekend was to identify what went well and what needed improvement following the first competitive tournament in Oxford at the beginning of February, all with a view to enhancing the team’s prospects at June’s European Championships in Pesaro, Italy.
Guards and forwards were separated for specific skills sessions and brought back together to integrate those skills as a whole team. A new option on offence was introduced to give more variety in attack and defences were tweaked to increase the threat from being active off-the-ball defenders.
The team have bought into the teamwork and energy philosophy and we are beginning to see the fruits of that labour. The future is looking bright for this incredible group of athletes!
