The FIMBA GB +50 Men started their preparations for next year’s World Championships with a three hour session in Hull at the weekend.
Coach Des Williams put the players through a series of shooting drills, plays and outlined the strategy that he will work on over the coming months. It also gave the players the chance to get to know their new coach and his coaching style and philosophy.
In the New Year, the FIMBA GB +50 Men will hold a series of two day camps leading to a final squad selection for the trip to the tournament in Argentina. Players from the age of 50 to 60 will be in with a chance of making the squad, ensuring that players who want to go but can’t find a team, will have the opportunity to represent GB on the highest stage in Masters basketball.
The World Championships is a special event and to be able to represent Great Britain will be an honour and we are putting together a squad with a varying age range and experience to give us the best chance of competing”
