The second of three trial camps saw a strong turnout of players in both +40 and +45 age categories vying for a spot on next season’s teams.

After a successful 2025 season, picking up a Silver and Bronze at the World Cup, and a first ever entrance into the FIMBA World Championships, the GB Forties have expanded and are working towards the European Championships in Athens, 2026.

With the 2026 training camps starting next weekend with the +40 & +45 Men and Wheelchair trials, FIMBA GB have received a record 200 new player registrations, bringing our total registered players to over 450. The good news is, there is still time to register.

We sit down with some of our amazing FIMBA GB Family members and discuss their basketball journey, life in general and understand why they still love playing basketball. Next up is +60 Women’s player, Lesley O’Hanlon.

After 9 months of hard work on and off the court, the FIMBA GB +40 Women had their final training camp at the weekend before heading the FIMBA World Championships in Ticino, Switzerland at the end of the month.

This last weekend saw the FIMBA GB +60 Women’s Ticino squad meet up in Carterton, Oxfordshire for continued reparation which is now less than a month away.

This past weekend provided the +50 Women with their final training days in Leicester before the squad departs for Switzerland next month, for the 17th FIMBA World Championships.

Preparations for the World Championships in Ticino, Switzerland continue to progress well for the FIMBA GB +55W squad.

With just 40 days until the 17th FIMBA World Championships in Ticino, Switzerland, we take a look at the +40 Women’s journey so far.

The World Cup Silver medallist, FIMBA GB Forties, had their penultimate camp at the weekend looking to build on their success in Croatia as they head to the World Championships in Switzerland next month.
