Get ready for a ground-breaking moment in the sport — the first-ever Masters Wheelchair Basketball World Cup is coming to the UK in 2026.

The FIMBA GB +40 & +45 squad had their final camp of 2025 at their home court in Leicester.

The FIMBA GB +40 & +45 Women welcomed one of their largest ever squads, back to their home court in Leicester, as the squads start to take shape for the European Championships in Athens 2026.

The recently formed FIMBA GB Wheelchair programme was back on court in Liverpool this weekend as they look to continue building for 2026.

The second of three trial camps saw a strong turnout of players in both +40 and +45 age categories vying for a spot on next season’s teams.

After a successful 2025 season, picking up a Silver and Bronze at the World Cup, and a first ever entrance into the FIMBA World Championships, the GB Forties have expanded and are working towards the European Championships in Athens, 2026.

FIMBA GB Masters hosted the first ever Wheelchair basketball camp at the weekend in Liverpool. In partnership with British Wheelchair Basketball, Greenbank Sports Academy and Mobility in Motion, we welcomed players from all over the UK.

With the 2026 training camps starting next weekend with the +40 & +45 Men and Wheelchair trials, FIMBA GB have received a record 200 new player registrations, bringing our total registered players to over 450. The good news is, there is still time to register.
