+60s FIMBA GB Host Their Third Oxford Tournament, Honouring the Legacy of Barbra Campbell

The FIMBA GB +60 Women proudly hosted their third Oxford Tournament at Carterton Leisure Centre over the weekend of 21–22 February, welcoming five teams for a spirited celebration of masters basketball, camaraderie, and competition.
Teams from across the UK and Ireland took part, including Glasnevin, Britvic 55, Trailblazers, the FIMBA GB +60 Women, and the FIMBA GB +55 Women. Across two days of play, each team competed in four games, delivering a showcase of skill, determination, and the unmistakable joy that defines masters sport.

At the end of an exciting schedule, Britvic 55 emerged as the outright winners of the tournament.
This year’s event carried special significance with the introduction of a new trophy created in memory of Barbra Campbell, a cherished figure within the masters basketball community who passed away earlier this year. Barbra was a long‑standing manager of the Britvic 55 team, and it proved deeply fitting that her former team claimed the inaugural trophy bearing her name.

The presentation was made by Nicky Shaw, Lead Delegate for FIMBA GB, who awarded the trophy to Britvic 55 captain, Wendy Mutch, in an emotional and celebratory moment shared by players, supporters, and officials.

Nicky Shaw, Lead Delegate for FIMBA GB said:

“This weekend was dedicated to Barbra, our much loved Team Manager, friend and the heartbeat of our Women’s +55s. She carried us with warmth, humour and a spirit that brought people together so it was only fitting that the trophy carried her name”
