FIMBA GB is pleased to announce that Mark Taylor has been secured as the new Head Coach for the Women’s 35+ team.
Mark brings a wealth of basketball experience to the role. He enjoyed over 20 years playing in the National League, representing both Swindon and Oxford, building a reputation as a committed competitor and respected teammate. His long playing career has given him a deep understanding of the game, leadership on and off the court, and a strong connection to the UK basketball community.
Mark joined the FIMBA GB coaching setup in 2024 as Assistant Coach for the Men’s 50+ team and quickly made a significant impact. In 2025 he stepped into the Head Coach role, guiding the squad to their best-ever finish at the World Championships in Switzerland. His work with the team demonstrated his ability to develop players, create a positive team culture, and compete at the highest level of Masters basketball.
Now taking on the Women’s 35+ programme, Mark is looking forward to building on the strong foundations already in place.
When asked, Mark said “It is an honour to get to work with this talented, strong team of women and to build on the success they have already worked so hard to achieve. I believe they have yet to reach their true potential and I am excited to be a part of that journey.”
Richie Rudd, International Head Coach said “We are excited to have Mark leading the programme and look forward to seeing the +35 women’s team continue to grow and compete on the international stage“.
