The +60s and +65s women’s squad wrapped up their final training session of the year in Leicester with great energy, good humour, and an impressive array of festive jumpers. The session brought together the full group for a spirited workout before the team takes a well-earned break for the holiday season.
Coach Alex continued to build on the squad’s recent progress, introducing a blend of new drills focused on defence, footwork, spacing, and decision-making under pressure. The players responded with commitment and enthusiasm, showing clear development across both individual skills and team concepts.
This session also marked a transition for two squad members. Karen Green and Ann Zammit who have been selected to join the Maxiballers’ Women’s 55+ team so will no longer be training with the +60s FIMBA GB +60s & +65s teams.
The team now heads into the festive period with confidence, camaraderie, and clear progress. Training will resume in the new year as the squad continues its preparation for the busy 2025 season ahead.
“The team has made huge strides over the past few months. Today we introduced a mix of new drills and skill-development sequences, and the group adapted incredibly well. Their work ethic continues to impress me, and I’m excited to build on this momentum after the break.” Coach Alex
