Another excellent session is in the books for the FIMBA GB +50s men’s basketball squad, and it was another strong reminder of the dedication running through this group.
Huge respect goes out to every player who continues to show up, putting in the work week after week — often sacrificing personal time and moments with family to commit fully to the programme. The turnout was fantastic, and the energy on court reflected that commitment from the opening drill to the final huddle.
Before their own session began, several members of the FIMBA GB +50s men’s squad kindly supported the Sen Shots Basketball programme, helping out on court and giving back to the community. A short clip from that session can be seen here:

We did have an unexpected change during the session, as Head Coach Danny James had to leave early due to personal reasons. Danny, we’re sending our best and look forward to welcoming you back at the next session in January. Knowing the level of preparation and structure you bring, we’re confident you’ll return with an even sharper plan as the countdown to Athens continues.
Assistant Coaches Mark Taylor and Adam Cole once again played a crucial role, guiding the group with clarity, purpose, and their usual high standards. With competition for roster spots intensifying and performances steadily improving across the board, the coaching team will undoubtedly face some tough decisions in the coming weeks. Selecting two squads from such a committed and talented pool won’t be easy — but it’s a great problem to have.
Another step forward. Another session that shows exactly what this group is made of. On to the next FIMBA GB +50s men’s session in January.
“Every session we take another step forward. The commitment from this group is outstanding, and it shows in the quality of work they’re putting in. As we move closer to Athens, the standards are rising, the competition for places is intensifying, and that’s exactly what we want. This squad is building something special.” — Head Coach Danny James
