The +70 Men’s squad held a highly successful training camp over the weekend of 23rd and 24th November, with 14 players in attendance. This represents an excellent turnout, particularly given that five regular attendees were unavailable for this session. The camp was further strengthened by the arrival of five new players, all participating in their first official training with the group.
With the team preparing for Athens 2026, where they will defend their European title, the +70 Men now have a squad of 20 players from which the final tournament team will be selected. The continued growth and depth of the group is a positive indication of the programme’s development and competitiveness.
Both training sessions were led by Head Coach Jeff Jones, who focused primarily on integrating the new players into the squad’s systems. Jeff introduced them to the core drills, offensive sets, and defensive principles, ensuring they understand the foundational structures that the returning players are already familiar with. This approach helped maintain consistency while creating a supportive environment for player development.
Overall, the camp was productive, energetic, and encouraging for the group’s progression toward Athens.
Next Training Session:
18–19 January 2026
“It was fantastic to see such strong numbers and to welcome five new faces into the group. The commitment and energy shown this weekend remind me why this team became European champions. We’re building something special again for Athens 2026.” — Coach Jeff Jones
