+35s Men Train in Southampton

+35s men continue their campaign to Athens with another great session today (Sunday 23 November 2025) in Southampton

The +35 Men’s squad had an excellent training session in Southampton today, with strong attendance and high energy throughout. The group arrived focused and ready to work, and the commitment shown across the board continues to set a great standard for this age group.

We opened the session with a structured warm-up and mobility work, ensuring everyone was physically prepared. Intensity ramped up quickly with competitive shell defence drills, where communication and rotations were notably improved from previous sessions. The team responded well to adjustments and showed a willingness to take feedback on board.

Offensively, we spent time revisiting spacing and movement principles, followed by half-court sets. Ball movement was a clear positive today—players were unselfish and created good scoring opportunities through patience and decisive action. Finishing around the basket was more consistent, and outside shooting improved as the session progressed.

We finished with controlled scrimmages. These were a standout part of the session: tempo was high, transitions were sharper, and defensive discipline held up well. A few players demonstrated excellent leadership today, helping to keep the group focused and organised.

Overall, it was a productive and encouraging session. Fitness levels are strong, teamwork is growing each week, and the squad is developing both chemistry and identity. With continued attendance and effort like today, this group is progressing well toward future competition.

“Great energy, great focus, great session. This group is moving in the right direction.” Coach Paul Sparrowhawk
