FIMBA GB +60 Men continue their road to Athens

Last weekend saw the O60 Men’s head up to Scotland for their training session in Dalkeith, just South of Edinburgh. Always keen to travel around the country to hold training sessions this was the second time they have visited Dalkeith, and it didn’t disappoint.

Last weekend saw the O60 Men’s squad training in Dalkeith, just South of Edinburgh. Always keen to travel the country to hold training sessions this was the second time they have visited Dalkeith, and it didn’t disappoint.

Hoping to introduce the FIMBA GB team to those north of the border who previously had not experienced our training, it was good to see some new faces come along, and hope it will encourage them to travel south when we resume our training program in Beauchamp College, Oadby, Leicester on 15th/16th  November.

As ever, newly appointed International Head Coach Richie Rudd ran an enjoyable session on Saturday, mixing up fitness and skills drills to keep every player engaged. Sunday was taken up with a friendly game against a mixed age group team put out by Cammy King (some looked to be in their 40’s!). A good close game was enjoyable to watch, and played in a good friendly spirit, with the FIMBA GB team narrow winners by a couple of baskets.

Thank you to Cammy for getting the team together to play us.

So the O60s program moves on to Oadby, Leicestershire in November, and serious thought is now being given to team personnel and the make up of possibly three O60s teams – yes, we have that many players!!

So if you want to get on board with us, Oadby is the place to be.
