o45 Men Have a Winning Weekend

The Fimba GB men’s o45 squad had a very successful training camp before beating two different teams back-to-back.

The Men’s o45s descended on Coach Frankie’s home court in Oxford at the weekend as they continued to get to know each other better. On Saturday, they worked hard on their transition rules and shot making as well as starting to introduce their half-court sets.

On Sunday they played two 3 quarter friendlies against a local and National League team, putting their learnings into practice to great effect and winning both games.

Captain Drew Barrett was in a buoyant mood after Sunday’s wins saying, “as the 45s descended upon the historic, affluent and academic city of Oxford, my first thoughts were ‘they’re not ready for us!’ We officially entered Franky World and a new era. The guys enjoyed a progressive and enjoyable training session. The information and concepts shared were to prepare and serve us well for Sunday’s games. The two games on Sunday back to back were to test our experience, fitness, resilience and competitiveness. I can say we passed with flying colours, winning both games. Everybody stepped up and played their part in the back to back wins. We will keep moving forward!”

After the two games, Coach Frankie added, “It’s the first time we’ve managed to get everyone together so it was really good to have them and then be here to enjoy Oxford for a change. On top of that to be able to compete at a higher level, I think we did a great job today and things will only get better from now on. I’m very excited about Malaga, as are they, so it’s all good!”
